The 5th Annual Redwood Coast Kite Festival & Artisan Fair is planned for Saturday and Sunday, May 16th and 17th, 2026. The festival is a free family friendly event held along the Humboldt Bay waterfront at Halvorsen Park in Eureka, California. We are very fortunate to be a DreamMaker project of the phenomenal philanthropic local non-profit InkPeople. This festival is a collaborative endeavor with Humboldt County kite flyers, artists, artisans, and galleries. Please join us for the 2026 Redwood Coast Kite Festival!
Kite flying and kite creation is an art form and sport, filling the skies with color and shapes, and employing skills of technology, physics, meteorology, kinesiology, aerodynamics, art and mathematics. It encourages healthy activity, connectivity and creativity in all ages and skill levels. In 2019, a growing group of kiters tangled kite strings to form Humboldt Kiters and have been flying together at Halverson Park, as well as at many of our amazing local beaches, bluffs and all around the big, beautiful skies of Humboldt County. Weather permitting, our kite club can often be seen having fun flying kites of all different types, shapes, sizes and colors, bringing joy to the entire community. We hold monthly community Fun Flys and celebrations of holidays like National Kite Flying Day. The sight of kites flying in the sky brings joy to many. Kite flying can be fun for everyone!
